About Maggie Sushi Bar

Maggie Sushi Bar is one of those Japanese restaurant spots you’re happy to stumble upon when you’re wandering through central Munich. Located at Westenriederstraße 13, 80331 München, Germany, Maggie Sushi Bar blends a relaxed neighborhood feel with the clean, modern touch you expect from a well-run sushi place. When I introduce this restaurant to friends, I usually start with the vibe, because it sets the tone right away. The space feels casual and welcoming, not stiff or overly formal, which makes it just as suitable for a quick lunch as it is for a laid-back dinner. Outdoor seating adds another layer of charm, especially when the weather cooperates, while takeaway and dine-in options make it easy to fit into different schedules. The menu leans confidently into Japanese flavors, focusing on fresh sushi, small plates, and balanced combinations that don’t feel heavy. There’s a clear effort to offer healthy options alongside comforting classics, so you can keep things light or indulge a little without feeling boxed in. Vegan and vegetarian options are thoughtfully included, which I always appreciate when introducing the place to mixed groups. Drinks are handled just as smoothly, with beer, wine, spirits, and alcohol choices that pair naturally with the food, plus coffee if you’re easing into the evening or wrapping up a late meal. Speaking of timing, late-night food and quick bite choices make Maggie Sushi Bar feel flexible and city-friendly, especially for anyone moving between plans. I often mention how easy it is to drop in without overthinking the occasion, since the service style keeps things moving while still feeling attentive. The mix of small plates encourages sharing, tasting, and casual conversation, which naturally fits the relaxed Japanese restaurant atmosphere and keeps the experience lively rather than rushed. Being right in the city center also makes it an easy recommendation for visitors who want quality sushi without straying far from Munich’s main streets.

Fresh and delicious sushi. Sometimes the rice is mushy tho, not consistent with every visit of mine. Fair dining experience for the price. Crunchy roll is the best!

Very good! I liked that the food is not expensive. Waitresses and waiters are friendly and nice. The place itself as a bit small, because there were a lot if people, so we had to seat outside. But thanks God the weather is already warmer so we could enjoy it! The minus is only an absence of card payment. But in general very cute place!

The food was great — the ramen had a really rich, savory flavor, and the meat portion was generous. The rolls were small but very tasty. However, the service wasn’t the best. We had to wait outside in the cold because they said there was no space to wait inside, which made the experience uncomfortable. And once we got in, the woman serving us didn’t seem very attentive or welcoming, and didn’t offer any suggestions.

Very cozy place, the spirit of Asian countries. Visiting this place you can feel the atmosphere of street restaurants in China and Japan. The place is clean and there are no unpleasant odors. The cuisine is tasty and considering the location of the place almost in the center of the city it is cheap.

The atmosphere was great and trendy, The Tom Kha gai was fabulous! Everything was delicious. Service was quick and to the point. No frills given, no frills needed. If you are looking for a good Asian restaurant for food and cocktails off of the market, this place is for you!

The price-amount ratio is superb. Just look at that huge bowl of salmon that costs around 13€. Things tasted just great. Have to say it'sore to the Vietnamese side than japanese as one would have expected according to the name. The sake bowl is nice, and also the rice noodle bowl with beef (not soup). The bento box is soso and the crunchyrolls are rather salty, I personally didn't like it that much. It's completely open and there s tables on the street as well.
